Townwide Property Reassessment

The Town of Bristol, VT has hired Tyler Technologies to conduct the townwide reappraisal project. This means that all property appraised values will be adjusted to an estimated market value in accordance with Vermont laws.

Property owners may be visited by a Tyler appraiser or data collector beginning Spring 2026. They will be making their way through each neighborhood, visiting properties, verifying measurements of buildings, taking a photo of the front of each building, and correcting property data when needed. Data collectors may also ask residents/occupants questions about the property as it relates to property value. The purpose is to collect accurate information which will be applied to market calibrated tables. The intent is to produce accurate property valuations. Data collection will continue until early 2027.

Once all property information is collected and corrections have been made to the property data, Tyler Technologies will analyze the data and calibrate the property data to a preliminary market value. In Spring 2027, property owners will receive their preliminary appraised values notice by mail. The letter will provide instruction for review and how to schedule an informal meeting with Tyler appraisers. The details of the property will be posted on the Assessor’s website.
