Kim's Mission
Kim is working to help give a voice to the K-12 transportation industry. As a former Transportation Director, she aims to be a dutiful conduit representing transportation professionals for often thankless positions. Kim uses her speaking engagements as opportunities to highlight and celebrate all parts of the industry, from management to technicians, bus drivers, parents, school admins, board members, and, of course, the students.
About Kim
Kim has worked in K-12 transportation since 1999. She has served in various roles, such as Northern Regional Director for IAPT (Illinois Association for Pupil Transportation), Safety Officer, Third Party Tester, and Director of Transportation. Kim continues to serve on the IPTAC (Illinois Pupil Transportation Advisory Council). During her career, she has written training manuals that are used in several school district's transportation operations. Her special needs training material was adopted for the state-mandated Illinois driver training manual.
During COVID, she served on two special task forces, one for the State of Illinois ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education) and the other for the STARTS (Student Transportation Aligned for Return To School) Transportation task force.
Kim represents Tyler Technologies by serving on several national committees, including the supplier council steering committee for NASDPTS (National Association for State Director of Pupil Transportation) and the NSTA (National Student Transportation Association) manufacturers suppliers and technology committee and business development committee.
She is an official NAPT instructor and was appointed to the NAPT Board of Directors in 2021 as the first-ever female Affiliate Member Director. She currently serves on the legislative committee for NAPT. In 2023, Kim was chosen to serve on the emerging technology writing committee for the NCST (National Congress for Pupil Transportation). Kim is passionate about student safety and grateful to be a part of a team that does such important work.
